Motonari Ono graduated from Mejiro Design School in 2002 and London College of Fashion Foundation (LCF) in 2003. In September 2003, he enrolled in Royal College of Fine Art Antwerp but he got hired by Bora Aksu, London's designer, so he left the college before graduation. In 2004, he joined Bora Aksu as a chief pattern-maker. After returning home in 2006, motonari ono was established.
