The People behind:

KATHARINE HABLE SWEENEY
As a young entrepreneur she sold Girl Scout cookies, lemonade, and handmade barrettes in her early career. Following her knack for business she studied journalism and marketing in college. Working in the retail world sharpened her sales, customer service, and managerial skills and developed her fashionable eye. To complement her time at a large, international fashion house, Katharine went on to work for a small company started by entrepreneurial women. As a wholesale rep for high-end accessory lines, she acted as the liaison between designers and retail outlets. Influenced by women around her, she desired the benefits starting her own company afforded: the freedom to be a mom, wife, and business owner. When the time was right, she and Susan capitalized on the compatibility of their combined talents.

SUSAN HABLE SMITH
Her artistic talents were already realized in elementary school and lead to the decision to study painting in college. Over the years, in addition to her education, Susan developed her hand and artistic eye through her work experiences and travels. Working for young, female entrepreneurs in fashion and jewelry design made a lasting impression on her and gave her the knowledge and confidence to start her own company. Colors, textiles, and beauty discovered on a trek to Asia and South America granted her first hand inspiration and focus. Susan returned to New York to create art with fabric as her medium, and Katharine as her partner. Simple, hand-drawn, and organic, Susan’s designs have become the Hable trademark.

Congrats! I love reading success stories of female entrepreneurs, it's very inspiring. I think its important that as women we continue on supporting other women with their ideas and encourage each other in matters business. Sometimes the smallest bit of advice makes the biggest difference.I actually work with Microsoft, and right now I’m really excited to spread the word about the “Vision to Venture” tour they’re having between April and May, which will consist of five live events. Susan Solovic, the best-selling author and CEO of SBTV.com, will be giving the keynote speech-“Girls Guide to Building a Million Dollar Business”-geared toward women entrepreneurs like yourself. You can see more and register at http://smallbusiness.officelive.com/v2v/ so let me know what you think! And if you have any questions, I’d be more than happy to answer them 
