Jotaro Saito was born in Kyoto. His grandfather is now-dead dyeing artist, Saisaburo Saito, and his father is a modern kimono artist, Sansai Saito. He was born into a family that laid the foundation for modern dyeing artist. When he was 27, he made his debut as the youngest kimono artist. Since then, he has been seeking to create kimono that people can enjoy it as fashion item and also fits to modern life style and space. His works are often introduced in TV, magazines and other media, and he has been playing an active role in this area as an up-and-coming kimono designer. He is currently proposing "enjoying Japanese-inspired life style" and demonstrating his talents in many fields, including product designs and interior production. He is an official member of the CFD.
