In early 2007 at an eco fair in Primrose Hill, interior designer Helen Mudie and sustainable design consultant Kate Millbank got chatting. They soon discovered a shared passion for both interiors and sustainability, and the seed for One was sown.
While there were plenty of beautiful home products with high design values, and plenty of others with eco credentials, Kate and Helen had struggled to find many that brought the two together. So they set about creating a range of desirable furnishings with high sustainability standards. Pretty soon they’d discovered a whole lot of like-minded people making everything from hand-woven organic textiles to beautiful contemporary furniture, all of it produced with a commitment to preserving the wellbeing of people and the planet.
