Julie Mathias and Wolfgang Kaeppner established WOKmedia in 2004. They are based in London with a production studio in Shanghai.
Wokmedia’s work is primarily concerned with the emotional dimension, an archetypal memory or a physical sensation. Often they survey a state of in between where chaos is showing structure and confusion is beginning to make sense. Where out of devastation and destruction emerges a new world. A world imbedded in their childhood memories when emotions were not expected to be filtered, when make-believe was not equated with lunacy.

"Patricia Urquiola has an innate capacity to design objects with a strong connotation, which revolve around the upholstered families. A new look at the hammock style, presented at the Ideal House exhibition in Cologne; the ideal companion to the Smock armchair presented at last year’s Milan Furniture Show. It displays the same exploration of solids and voids, comfort and luxury, that distinguishes Urquiola’s work. This sophisticated, elegant sofa uses a light, stylised design centred around the draping over the ring-shaped armrests. The unusual feature of a full-length zip is for removing the cover and for joining different materials. The two rings have become arms, the objective lightness is maintained and transmitted by the slightly foamed shell. The small armchair stands on a slide or on a central tube. The particular feature is the smock stitch, embroidered at the sides, giving a luxurious and refined quality. A leather version is also envisaged, again confirming Moroso as a company that offers a unique product representing a way of working that, even though industrialized in its processes, remains hand-crafted in the attention to detail and the finishes."

Grafikdust

Murilo Maciel aka Grafikdust, studied advertising at PUC-RS, Brazil, and launched his career as an illustrator while living in London. In a very short period of time Murilo has been rated as one of the best new illustrator / designer for 2008 and has also been featured in many design magazines all over the world. He's worked with clients as BBH/London, Coca Cola, JWT Network, Digital Arts Magazine, Future Publishing and Abril Group, one of Latin America's largest and most influential communications conglomerate. Grafikdust is also represented by Advocate Art (Europe), Shannon Associates (USA) and Flair (Brazil).Through a mix of photography, hand-drawn elements, vector and texture, Grafikdust creates complex organic and colorful images with feeling and and depth that fulfill the needs of his clients.Murilo is now living in Porto Alegre, south of Brazil.
